Visited SMR Automotive today and got shown around the factory. It was my first experience of seeing an injection molding machine in action up close. It was really interesting to see the cell manufactoring going on and how the assembly line was set up and how quick everyone is. Also got shown Autocad Mouldflow, a really cool piece of software I really must learn. Compared to Pashley, another UK based manufacturing company I have been to, it was very similar, however much larger and more modern. SMR take advantage of lots of jigs and tools to speed up asembly.
